"400 Ugandans lose jobs as Uchumi exits Uganda"
With such things happening! I believe strongly that ENTREPRENEURSHIP is the future for many of us because this can happen to anyone - no one is immune to adversity and disaster but certain measures put in place can reduce the impact... as much as we work under people, we should have it in mind not to work under them for too long to a point where you become slaves and not do anything for ourselves and our families and the community and Nation at large - Having a mindset of entrepreneurship is key, or that of a partner knowing that you have so much potential that can be used to do great exploits - we should have timelines, plan wisely, have goals and visions that are SMART in many ways -
I believe having an idea and doing it is better than having no idea at all, I believe that planning for yourself and the future is better than not planning at all, I believe that taking life serious and the decisions we make must be done diligently other than sitting back and you refuse to decide anyway refusing to decide is also a decision in itself but we need to know that jobs are here to empower us not put us in bondage because you can use that platform to do lots of things like network, learn from whatever is on ground and hence launch out at some point etc
With the economy biting, such things are bound to happen even more, we need not FEAR, We need to be strategic in our way of life, in our planning (Commit it to God), In doing business, family, education, ministry and many other things.
Right now you could be seated on a gold mine, you could be harnessing an idea but things like FEAR have stopped you from "Going Forward" but remember that the future can be predicted by certain trends, and the word of God is clear about certain principles, "YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW".
This is just a reminder to AWAKE THE SLEEPING GIANT IN US, we need to think within and without, we need to THINK BIG but start small , we need to not avoid shunning work, there is a saying in acholi that goes like this "lachah pelony". This basically means that those who shun work don't get rich or can't be successful.
Let me close with this portion of scripture that as believers we need not just to pray but we have to work as God is the one who gives the strength, wisdom and understanding to do everything he has called us to do..
Deuteronomy 8:17-18:
You may say to yourselves, “I became wealthy because of my own ability and strength.” But remember the Lord your God is the one who makes you wealthy. He’s confirming the promise which he swore to your ancestors. It’s still in effect today.
So walk in the promises of God, don't allow to be lazy, he has already set a pattern on how we should live, work etc but most times we allow the worldly system to take over, we are in this world but not of this world, we belong to a system of the kingdom that has already placed things that we should do to beat the scourge of this world.. for example such scriptures speak alot but do we implement them
Proverbs 10:4 Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
Proverbs 21:20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.
Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
Proverbs 30:24-25 Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise: Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;
James 5:1-6 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.
This serves as a warning, to employers, employees, industrialists, workers and all manner of people (young to old) see link below
